You can see in the following pages many
ideas for developing the flatrack concept. Mix a panelled
end wall with an open end wall as shipping line Matson do
and you have a unit able to take occasional cargo longer than
40ft. Or add a ramp end to load vehicles. But ramps are not
the only way to get cargo on board - the Domino end walls
can be lifted off in a few minutes with a small fork truck
Don't forget other important considerations
such as sling lifting, a very important handling consideration
in out of the way locations where there are no crane spreaders.
Flatracks cannot be safely angle sling lifted. But on Domino
flatracks you can have sling points just inside the corner
posts which are safe.

the decades e.g. Type (10) as well as the latest concepts
such as the Type (19). Not all flatracks suit being 20ft and
40ft, and some have been superseded by improved designs. So
gaps in the numbering are intended.
